Images with Impact
Chances are you started your business to make a difference, to create an impact in other people's lives.
And your images should make an impact when your prospects, your audience, is scrolling through their social media feeds.
When a dynamic photo of you shows up and captures their attention, that's your opportunity to deliver content and to create a connection - even if you've never met the viewer face to face.
The images you use for your online presence serve a purpose.
They should:
- be polished and professional,
- be relatable and authentic,
- portray your brand's vibe, and
- slow the scroll.
When people come to your website, you want that strong hero shot to welcome them, to show them know you take your work seriously, you're competent, and that you're fully capable of handling their business.
One of the favorite things I do when reviewing images with my clients is talk about the energy of the images. It's a skill I've honed over the years.
We often get an "impression" of the image. But usually we can't put our finger on exactly what's making us feel a certain way.
Malcolm Gladwell wrote about this phenomenon in his book, "Blink".
However, between my psychology background, and over a decade of working with clients, I can actually help my clients choose the best photos, that match the energy they need for their business marketing strategy, whether it's showing joy, contentment, sass, or a little badassery, we'll zone in on the images that convey that brand energy.
Your images should be working strategically to support your brand, not just sitting there for identification purposes.
