How Do Businesses Sell on Pinterest? – A Simplified Explanation
Pinterest is a wonderful way to sell products (and services) through social media. Pinterest is designed for sharing AND savings items you want to come back to. It also allows you to write a brief description, add a price, and link directly back to your site (and to the shopping cart)!
If you’re considering marketing products with Pinterest, here are a few simple steps to get you on your way:
- First of all, you need a product that people want. Because the overwhelming majority of Pinterest users are women, it’s helpful to having products that appeal to women.
- Second, you need professional, eye-catching images of your products. Attractive, colorful photos do much better on social media. With 80% of the pins on Pinterest being repins, it’s great to get your own original pins in circulation.
- Once you have those items squared away, you’ll need to make sure your website is set up with a shopping cart.
- Next, you’re ready to set up your Pinterest Business account. You’ll be able to post your product photos, add the description, a price, and website link.
Of course, there’s a strategy to what you pin, how often, and so forth. Pinterest is a soft sell, so don’t bombard people with your product.
